1996 Chevy C1500 Silverado – 5.7L V8, Auto, RWD, Power Windows/Locks, Bucket Seats, 454SS Rims, Service Records, Super Clean!
1996 Chevy C1500 Silverado – While the fourth-generation of Chevy C/K trucks lived on from 1988-1998, there was a new naming structure for the trucks. Known as the GMT400 platform and nicknamed the OBS Chevy or GMC trucks, short for Old Body Style, this was the final generation for the beloved C/K series. Now designated as the 1500, 2500, and 3500 for the various weight classes, the once-popular Chevy C10 was no longer available. The first truck available for the GMT400 platform was the 1988 Chevy C/K 1500. The four-wheel-drive models were equipped with an Insta-Trac system that allowed drivers to switch from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive on-the-fly. For the fourth-generation Chevrolet C/K trucks, there were three trim models available: the Cheyenne, Scottsdale, and Silverado. The Cheyenne was the base trim and considered an affordable full-size work truck. The next trim level up was the Scottsdale, which would be your middle-of-the-line truck. Then there was the Silverado trim. Described as the top-of-the-line package, the Silverado was the third trim level available.
Texas Trucks & Classics is the headquarters for classic GM trucks and we spend more time than anyone searching the US for the nicest examples. Once located, we get them up to speed mechanically and cosmetically so the new owners will know they’ve purchased a great truck before it even arrives. This beautiful ’96 OBS was recently purchased locally here in TX. It is an original Bright Red stepside that still features its original paint and is extremely clean. As you can see in the photos, the paint and body are excellent, the bucket seat interior is spotless, and the upgraded chrome 454ss rims look great on the truck. The truck had a tonneau cover its entire life to the inside of the bed looks brand new. The same tonneau rubber the upper bedsides a little so thin paint in that area is only notable flaw. We did a recent 40 mile test drive on the Silverado and found that everything works as it should. Additional features and options include; 5.7 Vortec V8, Auto, RWD, Cloth Bucket Seats, A/C, Airbags, ABS Brakes, Center Console Storage, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Grill, Cruise Control, Rubber Floormats, Fog Lights, Owner Manual & Service Records, Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors, Factory AM/FM/CD Stereo, Window Visors, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15″ 454ss Chrome Wheels, and New Cooper Cobra Raised White Letter Tires! If you are looking for a low mile Chevy truck that you can drive daily and show on the weekends, this is definitely the one to own!
