1977 Chevy C10 SWB Bonanza – V8, Auto, 2WD, A/C, PS, PB, Special 2-Tone Paint (ZY3), Lowered, New Rims & Tires, Great Patina!
1977 Chevy C10 SWB Bonanza – Thoroughly redesigned from stem to stern, the all-new third generation C/K trucks for 1973 proved to be the longest lived series in Chevrolet’s history and the three-box styling has proved quite popular since. Aside from wheels and hubcaps, there really wasn’t much that was round anywhere in the design other than the body sides that featured a sculpted character line with a central plateau panel as well as curved side glass, a first on a GM truck. This platform also featured GM’s first in-house built crew cab, and the Suburban finally got four doors like a normal station wagon. Chevrolet offered this cab with only a single front bench seat beginning in 1976. Called the “Bonus Cab”, it was something of a competitor to the Dodge Club Cab and Ford SuperCab. Trim lines were also revamped, ranging from the entry-level Custom to the Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne and top-end Cheyenne Super. They were shuffled for 1975, with the Scottsdale moniker replacing the Cheyenne Super as the top-of-the-line package, while the Custom series was deleted. The next year, Chevy was back up to four trim lines with the addition of the Silverado at the top of the series. By and large, this remained the trim hierarchy for the remainder of series production.
If you are looking for a great “patina truck” then this Chevy C10 Bonanza is a candidate you should strongly consider. It definitely has the right look and would be killer with an LS engine pushing it down the road. It’s also just a great truck that you can drive daily and take to weekend shows as-is. What really sets this C10 apart from the crowd is the (1 yr only) yellow side trim and the special order two-tone (ZY3) Saratoga Silver and Maroon paint. From the SPID tag in the glovebox you can see this truck is still very similar to how it was originally optioned. The paint is definitely showing its age and there are small rust spots starting in the usual spots on the body. But, that’s what gives this Scottsdale the unique look that really turns heads! We recently completed a 3/5″ drop and added brand new wheels and tires. The lowering was done right with drop spindles, springs, and rear adjustable air shocks for a smooth ride. Features and options include; 305 V8, Auto, 2WD, A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Sparkomatic AM/FM/Cassette, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, New Windshield, New 20″ American Racing Rodders Wheels, and New ZR-rated 20″ Tires! Original “round-eye” short beds are hard to come by and, at the appreciation rates we’ve seen recently, you won’t be able to come close to owning one for only $15k in a few years. Don’t let this one get away!
