Aside from wheels and hubcaps, there aren’t many curves in the design, unless you count the body sides that feature a sculpted character line with a central plateau body panel and the first use of curved side glass on a GM truck. Trim lines ranged from the entry level Custom, Custom Super, Sierra, to top end Sierra Grande. Names were revised in 1975, with the hierarchy going from Sierra, Sierra Grande, High Sierra, to Sierra Classic. This remained in effect through 1982, when the High Sierra was dropped, with the others continuing though the end of series production.

What initially caught our eye and got our juices flowing on this 78 GMC High Sierra was the rare Seamist Green! A round-eye squarebody short bed in a unique color will always get our attention. A strong point for us was that the engine, transmission, and rear end had all been recently rebuilt. After the GMC was acquired in TN and driven to TX (without a single issue), it received a lot of attention before we ever snapped the first photo. As you can see the truck has a great stance thanks to a drop kit, restored wheels and new rubber. The brakes, a/c system, ball joints, seats, tail lights, trim, exhaust, fuel system, door seats and front/rear glass are all new! Additional features and options include, 350 V8, Auto, A/C, Edelbrock Valve Covers, Edelbrock BellTech 4/6″ Drop, Chrome Mirrors, Chrome Bumpers, Rubber Floor Mats, Owners Manual, Factory AM/FM Radio, 15″ Factory Steel Wheels, & New BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires! Needless to say, the end result is a real head turner and should be a definite consideration for a collection of any size.

1978 GMC 1500 High Sierra – 350 V8, Auto, Rebuilt Drivetrain, New A/C, BellTech 4/6″ Drop, Rare Color, New BF Goodrich Tires!

[16

post-46134","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-for-sale","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
["GET
