Description

2003 CRC Corvette Z06 (’62 Retro-Vette): The CRC Conversion is a result of many years of digital computer scanning and modeling with leaders in the Sprint CBS carbon fiber industry. Our initial molds were developed with the assistance of Boeing Phantom Works.  Our current molds are now designed and developed in house in one of our Seattle area facilities. Although fiberglass was the state of the art body material during the past 60 plus years, it is prone to cracking and messy body repairs. Today most high end sports and performance cars use parts and components made of carbon fiber which is, under stress, stronger than both metal and fiberglass. Our CRC Conversions use a type of carbon fiber called CBS. The material is supplied to us by Gurit and we have adapted our shops to use the newest process in laying up parts. With CBS we actually use a surfacer in the molds before laying the carbon fiber material. This prevents pattern bleed through which is a fairly well known issue when using carbon fiber.  The complete CRC body is manufactured using this state of the art carbon fiber whereas other manufacturers will use carbon for accent pieces or just a few parts on the car. Some of our chrome trim is chromed carbon fiber as well, such as the headlight rings and trunk spears on the ‘58 model and the bumpers. This is truly “state of the art manufacturing”.

If you are looking for something truly unique and priced for a quick sale, this immaculate ’62 Retro-Vette is worth some serious review. Why is this CRC Corvette unique? Per the manufacturer, they almost exclusively build their carbon fiber conversions on convertible Corvette chassis. This is one of only three that were built on a C5 Z06 (FRC) body and the only one available for sale. Why do we claim “priced for a quick sale”? Compared to all other pre-owned CRC models available in the $100k realm, this example has a LS6 motor and all available options (compared to LS1 motors and less options). So, if you are looking for an LS2 – LS7 engine your other candidates will include this example or others ranging from $130-160k. There are others available at auction such as the similar red 1962 Retro-Vette that sold at Barrett Jackson in 2016 for $200k. A final option is to have one built by CRC as the previous owner of this vehicle did. He started with a low-mileage, donor 2003 Corvette Z06 ($45k) and then happily handed over an additional $98k to have CRC create the beauty offered here today. The red paint with black coves pair perfectly with the iForged twin-spoke chrome wheels. The interior features the factory heads-up display (HUD), Bose stereo, Pioneer touch-screen navigation, and seats/dash/door panels wrapped in rich Caravaggio leather. Additional options and details can be found in the attached photos.

Outstanding good looks are only half the package here. This LS6 is topped with a polished Magneson twin-scroll supercharger, SLP long tube headers, SLP high flow cats and a custom Corsa Exhaust that work together to produce an exciting 550hp! The 6-Speed make for a proper sports car experience and the high-performance Baer Brake system and thick Michelin Pilot Sport tires will bring you to a stop with ease. With only 16k miles, rare FRC body, high level of options, immaculate condition, and very reasonable price… you won’t find a better car or a better price on a CRC Retro-Vette!
