1989 Mazda B2200 Cab Plus – The 1989 Mazda B2200 was part of Mazda’s long-running B-Series compact pickup line, produced from the early 1980s through the late 2000s. In the U.S. market, the B2200 was a 2.2‑liter SOHC 8‑valve inline‑4 (F2 engine family) delivering about 98 hp and 125 lb‑ft torque, paired with a 4‑speed manual, 5‑speed manual, or 3‑speed automatic. It was available in 2WD and 4WD configurations, primarily as a regular cab with a standard bed. The B-Series began in 1961 as a commercial vehicle above kei trucks, with the B2200 designation tied to its 2.2L engine. By 1989, it was in its third generation in the U.S., offering a simple, durable design aimed at work and basic transport. The 1989 model year saw minor cosmetic updates and interior refinements compared to 1987–88, but the carbureted engine remained.

At a local car show we ran into a great couple and started discussing classic trucks. We learned they were the original owners of a very clean 1989 Mazda truck … which immediately peaked our interest! For 37 years they have owned this great B2200 but due to losing some garage space, they decided to offer the truck to a lucky new owner. This classic Mazda has only 112k miles since new and has received one repaint in the original Bayside Blue. From our inspection we found only minimal wear on the steering wheel, seats and carpet as expected on a very this age. The window tint could also be redone in areas if you wanted it perfect. Otherwise, the truck is in excellent shape and everything works like it should.
