1987 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer – Now that the F-series trucks were providing the basis for the Bronco, it’s evolution became tied to the popular Ford pickups. When Ford updated the F-series pickup in 1987, the Bronco came along for the ride. In addition to gaining the popular aero body style, the Bronco also was upgraded with electronic fuel injection. Safety features were added around this time. Rear anti-lock brakes, for example, were added. By this time Bronco had secured its place as a popular SUV and variant editions came out, like the Eddie Bauer edition, a Nite option package, and a Silver Anniversary Edition to commemorate 25 years of production. Until just recently Ford’s Eddie Bauer trim package was one of the more popular ones. Two-tone paint, cloth bucket seats, and wood burl trim are the features that defined an Eddie Bauer edition.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since we all watched OJ Simpson the cruise around LA in the passenger seat of one of these big Broncos on national TV. Even harder to believe is that very few of these well recognized Bronco can still be found in excellent condition so many years later. Although this example rolled off the assembly line 33 years ago, it still remains highly original, looks great, and drives perfect. Much of this is due to this Bronco being a single-family owned Texas SUV that has been maintained regularly. This Bronco has seen only 80k miles of asphalt since new and it shows! Because there was some sun related fading we had much of the top half of the Ford repainted last month. The interior is in great shape with exception of a little fading/discoloring on the dash (no cracks!). There isn’t a better color combination on a 4th generation Eddie Bauer Bronco than the Desert Tan Metallic paired with the tan cloth bucket seats.
