1985 Chevy C30 Crew Cab Utility Bed – 454, Auto, 2wd, Dually, A/C, Power Window/Locks, Plenty of Storage, Low Miles, Drives Great!
1985 Chevy C30 Crew Cab Utility Bed – An all-new clean sheet redesign of General Motors’ Chevrolet and GMC brand C/K-Series pickups débuted in mid-1972 for the 1973 model year. Development of the new third-generation trucks began in 1968 with vehicle components undergoing simulated testing on computers before the first prototype pickups were even built for real world testing. The redesign was revolutionary in appearance at the time, particularly the cab, departing from typical American pickup truck designs of the era. Aside from being near twins, the Chevrolet and GMC pickups looked like nothing else on the road. The third-generation trucks are colloquially known as the “Square-body” or “Box-body” generation. Over the years, GM produced several variations of the squarebody truck as their popularity intertwined them in all aspects of American culture.
We search the US daily for clean, mechanically sound, original Chevy trucks and are amazed at how few we find. When we located this very original crew cab C30 Silverado 3+3 in south New Mexico, we jumped on the opportunity to purchase it. The odometer reads just under 110k miles and by the looks of the Doeskin Tan original paint, we feel certain this is accurate. The original bed has been removed and this C30 has been outfitted with a Harbor utility bed. This bed features a gooseneck receiver, a 5th wheel hitch, diamond-plated floors, tailgate and plenty of storage in 6 different compartments? Even better than its classic good looks is the drivability of this Chevy 1 ton. It drives great, the a/c blows cold, and everything works like it should. We wouldn’t hesitate to drive this truck across Texas or back to your home state. It is a 36 year old work truck so it’s not cosmetically perfect by any means. There are dings/chips/dings, the seats below the cover are worn, and someone damaged the steering column at some point. The column damage looks to only have affected the low/high light switch. The headliner and seat covers are new.
Features and options include; 454 V8, Auto, 2WD, Dually, A/C, KH Brake Controller, Center Console Storage, Chrome Grille, Chrome Mirrors, Chrome Front Bumper, Heavy-Duty Rear Bumper, Clearance Lights, Cruise Control, Dual Tanks, Power Steering & Brakes, Power Windows & Locks, Original AM/FM Stereo, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Tow Package, Owens Classics Running Boards, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 16” Chrome Simulators, and Thick 235/85/R16 Tires! The industry experts at NADA already value this truck between $17-25k and Hagerty sits just a tad higher at $18-30k. Each passing day these trucks become harder to find and are constantly increasing in value. Don’t let this one slip away from you for under $13k!
