1958 Buick Century Caballero Estate Wagon – The 1958 Buick Century Estate Wagon (Model 69) – also known as the 1958 Buick Caballero – is Buick’s trend-setting B-58 Estate Wagon – and just from viewing you know it is beautifully designed for any need. And beneath this glamorous hardtop styling and this true practicality, there’s an important story in the luxury of this big wagon’s ride-either on four coil springs-or on Buick’s optional new Air-Poise Suspension. There’s another big story in the B-1200 engine and in Dynaflow performance-and in the proud standards of Buick quality construction that kept the body tight, the engine right, and the finish beautiful and long-lasting. The Century Series was known as the Buick performance series. The 1958 Buick Century Estate Wagon had the smaller body of the Special series, but was equipped with the bigger engine of the higher series. With a long list of options and accessories, every Century could be a high-end luxury car. This model was known as the 1958 Buick Caballero.

This rare Buick Caballero came in a while back as a partial trade-in. We didn’t know much about at these Estate Wagons at the time but we knew we loved its looks. On top of the rarity, it has a killer patina paint job that only mother nature could create over the last 67 years. It was missing a few pieces of chrome which we successfully located and installed. The luggage rack is a rare option and this one is still in excellent condition. You probably can’t see in photos but there is a small windshield crack but the previous owner gave us a brand new windshield that will accompany this sale. The interior had seen better days so the decision was made to re-do just about all of it. The seats, carpet, headliner, dash pad, door panels, and wall panels are all new. We then tuned up the engine and the brakes, added a brand new set of thick white walls, and hand-sealed the body with Sweet Patina brand protectant. This beauty now turns a tons of heads and is ready for weekend cruises. Our future thoughts if she doesn’t sell soon are to possibly upgrade to a modern drivetrain, brakes, and a/c. But, we thought we’d go ahead and offer her for sale in the current restoration level and let the new caretaker make those decisions.
