1951 Chevy 3100 1/2 Ton – In 1925, Ford was the first of the Big Three to enter the pickup market, but it was Chevrolet that stood tall as Detroit’s top truck-seller by the time of World War II. Chevy resumed civilian truck production in August 1945, and really got back to business in May 1947 with its new “Advance Design” pickups. Wider, longer and lower than the prewar leftovers marketed in 1946, the Advance Design models looked thoroughly modern and featured an equally modern “alligator” hood hinged at the rear. Beneath that gator was Chevy’s proven 216-cid “Stovebolt” six-cylinder. There were few changes as the Advance Design trucks rolled into the 1950s, but Chevy continued to sell more trucks than all rivals—even with Ford’s new F-series models on the market after 1948. Notable updates included vent windows being added to the doors in 1951.

It’s harder to find anything more American than a classic Chevy truck! And if you’re going to hit the roads in a true American icon, you need to do it in style. The only downfall of an all original 50’s era truck is that you lack several of the creature comforts we’ve grown accustomed to. And you might think twice about getting in the fast lane of the freeway with an inline 6 cylinder that only pumps out 92 horsepower. But a few years back we ingenious Americans collectively invented the “resto-mod” and today these hybrid vehicles are the best a buyer can find. Who needs a flashy sports car when you can turn ten times the heads in a classic truck that has all the comforts of a newer vehicle! This gorgeous Series 3100 1/2 Ton has all the right looks and features to make driving a classic truck your new favorite hobby. After many years “under the knife”, this Chevy was completed (mechanically) by the previous owner in early 2020. Since that time the truck has seen a little under 1,000 miles of asphalt as shown on the odometer. In July of 2020 the truck received a beautiful new red paint job and chrome badging on the hood. It recently received over $8k in servicing and upgrades with the highlight being the addition of a Holly Sniper EFI fuel management system. Features that set this classic Chevy apart from the crowd include; Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI) 350 V8, Edelbrock Intake and Carb, Chrome Valve Covers, Chrome Air Cleaner, Aluminum Radiator, March Front Runner Kit, Automatic, RWD, Front Disc Brakes, Chevelle Front Clip, Power Steering, Vintage A/C, Bucket Seats, Wood Bed, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Pioneer AM/FM/CD Stereo, Comfort Grip Steering Wheel, Chrome Grill, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Cloth Floormats, Dual Exhaust, 15″ Torque Thrust Wheels, and Sunny Power Touring 225/60/R15 Tires! You can spend a fortune to build this truck’s twin or you can call us today and begin enjoying a great classic right away!
