1948 Willys-Jeep Panel Delivery – Styled by Brooks Stevens, the 1946 Willys model 4-63 two-door wagon borrowed heavily from the wartime favorite Jeep up front. From the cowl back, it had flat panel sides with edging that gave the impression of wood construction despite being all steel. It was joined in 1947 by a panel delivery and pickup, also in two-wheel drive. Another offering late in the year was a flathead six-cylinder, the model 6-63. In a postwar market starved for vehicles across the board, they did sell well, but it became obvious that four-wheel drive was what the buyers were looking for and something that would make Willys stand out from the competition. The live front axle was introduced in 1949 for all body styles, and became the mainstay of production since. Total production in 1948 was capped at only 3,607 units!

This rare Panel Delivery is definitely a head turner and one that you almost never see in such excellent condition. With low initial production and the passing of over 70 years, when else will you have an opportunities to own a Willys this nice? What makes this Willys even more of a great find is that it comes with a thick binder of documentation, brand new paint, and a set of rare 14″ Appliance Apache Wheels. But the best part is that power is provided by a Roush 289 V8 with less than 2,200 miles since being transplanted. This Willy spent most of its life in CA before making its way to TX. Between these ideal climates and excellent maintenance from the previous owners, this example is most likely the nicest you will ever find.
