1996 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE – GMC’s Sierra and the nearly identical Chevrolet C/Ks had been redone as early 1988 models, in three series: 1500 (1/2 ton), 2500 (3/4 ton), and 3500 (1-ton). C pickups were 2-wheel drive; K indicated Insta-Trac part-time 4WD. Models without flared rear fenders were called Wideside, models with flared rear fenders Sportside. All models had antilock rear brakes, and either manual shift or an automatic transmission. Vortec engines arrived in ’96, delivering more power. The new 4.3-liter V6 gained 40 horsepower (reaching 200).
If there’s a great Action Line or Squarebody truck out there looking for a new home, Texas Trucks & Classics tries our hardest to own it. OBS trucks are not exempt from our searches but always seem to be the most illusive. When we located this 1 owner, 54k mile, GMC Sportside here in TX we made sure not to let it slip away. The Sierra 1/2 ton was purchased, washed, and photographed the same day. It is one of those vehicles that has been so well maintained the it needs absolutely nothing. Everything on this truck is original with exception of a drop in bedliner and an upgraded stereo head unit. The original radio was kept by the previous owner (see photos) and is included with this sale. A complete list of features include; 4.3L V6, Auto, RWD, A/C, Front Airbag, ABS Brakes, Bedliner, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Grill, Cruise Control, Rubber Floormats, Keyless Entry, Owners Manual, Power Steering & Brakes, Power Door Locks, AM/FM/CD Stereo, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15″ Factory Alloy Wheels, and Thick BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires!
As the OBS trucks rapidly increase in value, as the Squarebodies and older GM trucks have in recent years, won’t you be glad you purchased this immaculate Sierra for only $10,900!
