1996 Chevy Impala SS – When the Impala name returned, it once again did so as a concept car. Unveiled at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show, the Impala SS was a murdered-out Caprice with a lowered suspension and an 8.2-liter V-8. The Impala SS went into production for the 1994 model year, effectively a civilian version of the 9C1 police package with a 260-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8. It was heralded by the famous “Lord Vader, your car is ready” ad campaign and remained in production through the 1996 model year. The last year saw minor interior alterations, with the digital speedometer being replaced by an analog one, along with a tachometer. The shifter was moved from the column to the center console, and the engine was given an OBD-II computer control system (the camshaft was reground to adjust for the new computer).

This Impala SS has been been garaged as part of a small collection here in Texas since 1997. We were fortunate to acquire this exceptional Chevy from its long term ownership and it arrived with some great upgrades.  While the paint and interior are very original, the brakes, stereo, wheels and suspension have all been improved. From just a quick glance of the exterior you will notice the lowered stance and the 18″ ZE Forged Wheels that are a perfect fit for an Impala SS! Brakes have been upgraded to cross-drilled/slotted rotors and the interior showcases an Alpine Bluetooth stereo with 15″ JL Audio Sub.
