1988 Dodge 150 Ram – The first-generation Ram trucks and vans introduced in October 1980 feature a Ram hood ornament first used on Dodge vehicles from 1932 until 1954. The 1988 model Ram came with one basic cab and two different cargo bed lengths. The original manager’s suggested retail price for the 1988 model started at $12,168. The Ram truck brand was separated from Dodge in 2011 and continued under Chrysler LLC. Only one engine was available for the 1988 model Ram, that being a 5.2-liter, 170-horsepower V-8 with 260 foot-pounds of torque. The engine had a bore and stroke of 3.91 and 3.31 inches, respectively. The truck also only had one choice of transmission available, which was a three-speed automatic. The fuel tank on the 1988 Ram could hold up to 22 gallons of regular unleaded gasoline. With the truck running at maximum efficiency, a journey of around 308 miles was possible on a single fill-up. Fuel economy figures in the city topped out at 13 mpg and improved slightly on the highway to 14 mpg. An interesting side note is that the 1988 Dodge Ram 150 has had 0 recall in the past 34 years.
