1964 Cadillac Deville Convertible – 429 V8, Auto, Power Top, Power Windows, Great Color Combo, Custom Stereo, Fun Weekend Cruiser!
1964 Cadillac Deville Convertible – Cadillac continued to list its premium Series 62 hardtops as “de Ville” models through 1964. While the spectacular ’59s entertained with their astounding tailfins, the ’60 Coupe de Villes exhibited exquisite form. From 1959 on, Sedan de Villes were offered in four-window and six-window models, with the four-window editions featuring especially attractive rooflines. The deeply sculpted ’61 de Ville models sported dramatic space-age styling with racy, thin-pillar rooflines and rocket-inspired fins, complemented by lower-body “skeg lines.” 1962 models were readily distinguished by their more formal rooflines. Smoothly unadorned flanks gave the 1963 editions a fresh infusion of what chief designer Chuck Jordan called ”the grace and spirit” of all great Cadillacs. Along with exterior refinements for 1964, a new 340-hp 429-cid engine replaced the 390-cid variants of 1959-63, and the Turbo-Hydramatic was introduced. With the exception of the universally cherished ’59s, de Villes of this era are relatively affordable today. As period Cadillac convertible values climb with the speed of an Atlas rocket, any top-notch hardtop de Ville looks all the more appealing today.
With only 17,900 units produced 58 years ago, many of these classic Cadillacs are just no longer around. In fact, we would bet you haven’t seen one in person unless you regularly attend large car shows in major cities. And while this Cadillac is not perfect, we will start by saying it is priced where you can make improvements to suit your taste. If it was perfect we would have it priced in the $60k range and the current valuation guides suggest. As she sits today you can jump in with the top down on a nice day and have fun behind the wheel again. The red and white color combo is an immediate attention-getter. If you enjoy taking classic cars, take this beauty to on a grocery run! Just about everyone wants to talk to you about it…. or at minimum offers a “thumbs up”. The A/C components are present but needs TLC and the paint probably looks better in photos. We would best describe this as a great classic convertible that you can drive while you improve. Features and options include; 429 V8, Auto, A/C, Power Top, Power Brakes/Steering, Power Window, Tilt, Tint, Chrome Mirrors, Chrome Bumpers, Custom Stereo, 15″ Factory Wheels, and Wide White Wall 235/75/R15 Tires. Drop the top and get ready to enjoy a fun weekend cruiser!
