Description

1966 Chevy C10 Patina SWB – 1959 saw the most radical engineering and styling changes for Chevrolet and GMC light-duty pickups since General Motors-branded trucks were introduced to the public early in the 20th century. The 1960 model year brought the arrival of the Chevy C10 series trucks, succeeding the 1955-59 Chevy Task Force series trucks. With the introduction of 1960s styling, Chevy C10 trucks were the first Chevy and GMC pickups equipped with independent front suspension (IFS), which replaced the non-independent straight axle found on Chevy and GMC trucks from 1959 down. One of the biggest trends in enjoying classic trucks is customizing classic trucks, and it has only been the past 10 years when the first series of Chevy C10 and GMC trucks have risen to their highest point in collector popularity. The new 1960 Chevy C10 series was a radical departure with torsion bar front suspension, and then in 1963 Chevy C10 and GMC trucks adopted conventional double A-arm with coil-spring IFS.

This 1966 short bed fleetside C10 was an great find here in TX. It was located in Austin, TX in the barn of the original owner. He had parked the truck there over 30 years ago when it had under 54k miles. He had recently given the drivetrain to a friend before we located the truck. This was not an issue for us because we never had the intention of restoring it back to its original condition. We did recognize that this truck has an incredible and original patina that can’t be replicated. This unique body sitting on top of a custom chassis and a late model drivetrain will be an unbeatable combo! The interior is in great condition and features the original bench seat and an a/c unit mounted under the dash. We sealed the patina with linseed oil and the rest has remained untouched. This sale comes with what you see in the photos and a clear TX title. If you are looking for a great start to a custom build, you can’t beat the unique look mother nature has created over the last 55 years.
