1972 Chevy C20 Custom Camper – A new, more modern look came for 1967, along with a new nickname: “Action Line”. It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. Numerous changes occurred in 1971. First came another new grille design (the “egg crate”) for Chevrolet trucks and black paint over portions of the GMC grille. Second, an additional trim package was introduced: the Cheyenne. On GMC models, this was equivalent to the Sierra. These packages consisted mostly of comfort features — nicer interiors, more padding and insulation, carpet, chrome trim, and upper and lower side molding and tailgate trim. 1971 was the first year for AM/FM radios factory installed. Finally, the front brakes on all light-duty trucks were switched from drum brakes to disc brakes, resulting in much less brake fade under heavy use. The 1972 models were very similar to the 1971 models, with the only change being the rear view mirror was glued to the windshield rather than bolted to top of the cab. For years the number of collectors seeking these ’67-72 trucks has been on the rise while the availability of clean original examples are getting harder to find.

This beautiful Chevy C20 Custom Deluxe is a recent addition to our inventory and is a single family owned truck since new. It is rust free and offered in one of the most popular color combinations available in this era … Medium Olive & White. On top of that it features and the matching, original Highlander plaid bench that was covered most of it’s life and is in excellent condition! Other highlights include the original wood bed in great condition, A/C cab, original drivetrain, and Custom Camper equipment. As you can see in the photos the steering wheel, exhaust, and rims/tires (original rims available – see photos) have all been upgraded. It has had one original color repaint and due to the selection of available mirrors, the previous owner decided to leave that choice to the new caretaker. In preparation for resale the tank was replaced and the entire fuel system was serviced. While we don’t have any documentation it is highly evident upon inspection that this is a true 90k original mile truck. A complete list of options not already mentioned includes; 350 V8, Auto, 2WD, A/C Cab, Highlander Plaid Bench, Chrome Grill, Chrome Bumpers, Rubber Floormat, Power Steering & Brakes, AM/FM/Cassette, Tilt Steering, Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Vent Windows, Full Spare, MB Motoring 16″ Chrome Outlaws, and Michelin 265/75/R16 Tires! This trucks drives very strong and we wouldn’t hesitate to drive it any distance. There are similar trucks and there may even be cheaper trucks but, none of them offer all the strong points found on this classic C20.
