1975 Chevy Suburban Silverado (Estate) – 454, Auto, 2WD, Rear Air, 3rd Row Seat, Power Rear Glass, Original Paint & Woodgrain, Only 59k Miles, Time Capsule!
1975 Chevy Suburban Silverado (Estate) – All of GM’s light duty and medium duty trucks for 1973 featured new cabs and pleasingly squared-off styling. Building on the success of Chevrolet’s king-sized truck-based wagon, the biggest news for the new Suburban was the addition of a driver’s side rear passenger’s door. A feature that we take for granted today, it also came a dozen years after the competing International Travelall and a decade after the Jeep Wagoneer first offered theirs. While GM may have been late to that game, they stayed for the whole game to play, as IH withdrew from the light truck market in 1975. In those two years, the Suburban not only made greater inroads with market share, they were successfully pulling in new owners who would have otherwise have been car owners. While some of this is due to the four-door arrangement, it is also due to the increasing number of car-like options such as air conditioning, power seats, power windows, tilt steering column and luxurious interior trim. For all years of this generation, the pickups and the Suburban all were available with the same trim packages – from bare bones Custom Deluxe to the well-appointed Silverado.
Classic Suburbans are hot and we’d be lying if we said we we’re in love with them! In our nationwide hunt for clean, original classic trucks/SUVs, we were elated to find this rare and low mileage Estate Suburban. This Suburban was in storage from 1985 until late 2019 and has just under 59k miles from new. When we located this Chevy it hadn’t been driven in a while so we spend the money to have the original 454 engine refreshed. One look at the Saddle interior and you feel like you stepped back into 1975. It’s a true time capsule and features all the best features available like a 3rd row seat, rear air, and a power rear window. It also has the Trailering Special Package and the original owner installed a brake controller. The Buckskin exterior is very solid, straight and completely rust free. All the glass is perfect and the original trim is in great shape. It obviously also features the woodgrain panels and “Estate” quarter panel badging only found on the Estate Suburbans. A complete list of features and options includes; 454 V8, Auto, RWD, Front & Rear A/C, Cloth Floormats, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Cruise Control, Original Owner Manual, Power Steering & Brakes, Power Rear Window, Factory AM/FM/Cassette, 3rd Row Seating, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Woodgrain Interior Trim, Trailering Special Equipment, Tire Tools, Full Spare Tire (w/cover), 16.5″ Factory Wheels, and Thick 9.5 – 16.5 LT Tires! The parts aren’t readily available to restore these Estate Suburbans so finding one in such great condition is a great find.
