1979 Chevy C10 SWB Scottsdale – 350, 2wd, Auto, Build Sheet, Dual Exhaust, New White Walls, Immaculate Restoration!
1979 Chevy C10 SWB Scottsdale – Thoroughly redesigned from stem to stern, the all-new third generation C/K trucks for 1973 proved to be the longest lived series in Chevrolet’s history and the three-box styling has proved quite popular since. Aside from wheels and hubcaps, there really wasn’t much that was round anywhere in the design other than the body sides that featured a sculpted character line with a central plateau panel as well as curved side glass, a first on a GM truck. This platform also featured GM’s first in-house built crew cab, and the Suburban finally got four doors like a normal station wagon. Chevrolet offered this cab with only a single front bench seat beginning in 1976. Called the “Bonus Cab”, it was something of a competitor to the Dodge Club Cab and Ford SuperCab. Trim lines were also revamped, ranging from the entry-level Custom to the Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne and top-end Cheyenne Super. They were shuffled for 1975, with the Scottsdale moniker replacing the Cheyenne Super as the top-of-the-line package, while the Custom series was deleted. The next year, Chevy was back up to four trim lines with the addition of the Silverado at the top of the series. By and large, this remained the trim hierarchy for the remainder of series production.
If you are looking for an extremely nice and fully restored Chevy C10, the Scottsdale is a classic truck you should strongly consider. Every portion of this truck was restored and it was done right. The paint, trim, chrome, interior, bed, exhaust, rims, tires, engine bay and even the underside all look almost brand new! From the SPID tag in the glovebox and the build sheet, you can see this truck is very similar to how it was originally optioned. The builder knew that the 140hp from the original 305 wasn’t going to work for a build this nice so he opted for a 350 crate engine pushing close to 300hp. The look is stock but the driving experience is much better than any similar C10 you’ll find. To further improve the driving experience the truck received an upgraded stereo and a more comfortable steering wheel (original steering wheel available). The lowering was done right with drop spindles and springs so the ride is smooth. Overall this is a great truck that you can drive daily and take to shows and win trophies without doing a thing to it. A complete list of features and options include; 350 V8, Auto, 2WD, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tinted Glass, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Grill, Chrome Mirrors, Blue Vinyl Bench Seat, Rubber Floormats, Pioneer AM/FM/CD, Original Owners Manual, Build Sheet, Lowered 2″/4″, 15″ Chevy Wheels, and New Hankook 235/75R15 White Wall Tires! “Round-eye” short beds this immaculate are hard to come by and, at the appreciation rates we’ve seen recently, you won’t be able to come close to owning one for only this price in a few years. Don’t let this one get away!
